Stuart initially trained in Psychoanalysis, Stress Counselling and Hypnotherapy from 1993-1995 and saw over 200 clients (over 1,000 client hours) as a supervised therapist in training with the ASM, whose training is recognised by the Society of Stress Managers, a voluntary regulator accreditation route.
Since then Stuart has completed level 3 and 4 psychotherapy vocational awards, a MSc Psychology, a BA (Open) in Psychology topics, and extensive theological and CPD training in eastern forms of psychology and psychotherapy.
Stuart has also completed the 2 year accreditation process of the National Association of Counsellors Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists.
Stuart is an integrative psychotherapist, combining western methods such as psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioural therapy, transactional analysis, gestalt and person centred models, with eastern psychological methods including mindfulness, Morita, Satori and Naikan. Styles include Lacanian, Jungian and Kleinian. Other models include those of Nietzsche and Hume.
Stuart sees both individuals and couples for both general issues, and also specialist psychological condition management.

- PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder)
- OCD (obsessive compulsive disorders)
- Forms of self harm including eating disorders
- DID dissociative disorder
Stuart is registered with Anxiety UK and also works in partnership with a charity providing counselling support to young people with severe mental issues and suicidal risk.
