Stuart and Denise are both specialists in working with stress management, including related issues such as anxiety management, anger management and psychosomatic conditions. Both are Fellows of the Society of Stress Management, a specialist professional body and CNHC voluntary regulation accreditation route (hypnotherapy).  Hypnotherapy is a key tool in stress management and both therapists are CNHC accredited.

Anger and stress management comes in two levels:


  • Anger or stress management counselling
  • Anger or stress management coaching and training
Counselling enables the individual to gain self knowledge and begin to understand why they are experiencing either stress or anger related problems.

Coaching and training enable the client to make changes in perception, behavioral, lifestyle and self management in order to stop the cycles of anger or stress.

Successful support requires

  • Address underlying causes such as trauma, relationships or historical patterns.
  • Address danger environments
  • Address triggers that cause stress or anger
  • Make positive changes to lifestyle and environment
  • Modify those areas where negative patterns exist
  • Learn and adapt new behaviours and outcomes

Very often successful management requires some historical event or pattern to be worked through, an individual to learn to see things slightly differently, and to support new behaviours with a healthier and happier life balance. 

Very important to remember is that all of the above factors are highly individual and can be complex in their interactions. Thus "off the shelf" books and training courses are often not just useless, but even harmful if they lead to suppression or further irritation. 

Stuart is a psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, counsellor and life coach with many years of experience of anger counselling and anger management, with additional stress management counselling knowledge. He has written externally accredited vocational practitioner awards at levels 4 and 5 in these topics. Stuart provides integrative psychotherapy, adapting his methods and therapies used to the needs of the individual person or couple. Stuart trained with ASM, with the ASM diploma recognised by the Society of Stress Managers, an organisation specialising in stress and psychosomatic related complaints. Stuart and Denise are both Fellows of the Society of Stress Managers.

Denise is a counsellor, life coach and complementary therapist who has completed anger and stress management training as part of her coaching and mental health support work training. Denise is a mind-body practitioner and often uses Indian head massage, meditation or crystal healing to reduce physical stress symptoms, while using counselling and coaching for mental health symptoms.
